AI & Content Policy

Meetis uses AI tools in its editorial work. This page explains how, and where the limits are.

How AI is used

  • Research. An AI assistant finds and reads pages from public health bodies and professional organisations on the topic of a guide.
  • Drafting. The assistant writes the guide from those sources, following the Meetis Editorial Standards.
  • Checking. Before publication, a separate checking pass re-opens the sources, compares the guide’s statements with them, and tests the links. Statements that the sources do not support are rewritten or removed.
  • Site work. AI tools were also used to build the website and to select and prepare licensed photographs.

What this checking is — and is not

The check described above is an editorial comparison of text against published sources, carried out with AI tools under the site owner’s instructions. It is not a medical review. No doctor, nurse, pharmacist, dietitian or other health professional has reviewed the guides, unless a guide explicitly names the reviewer and the date.

AI tools can make mistakes: they can misread a source, miss a nuance, or state something more confidently than the evidence allows. Our process is designed to reduce these errors, not to guarantee that none remain. This is one reason every guide lists its sources — so you can check them yourself — and why we ask readers to report errors.

What AI is not used for

  • We do not invent experts, authors, patients, quotations, studies or statistics.
  • We do not publish AI-generated images presented as photographs of real events, people or results.
  • We do not offer AI chat, symptom checking or personal recommendations on this site.

Authorship

Guides are published under the collective byline Meetis Editorial, which stands for this AI-assisted process and the person who runs the site. It is not the name of a medical team.

Changes to this policy

If the way we use AI changes — for example, if guides begin to be reviewed by health professionals — this page will be updated to say so.
